History

The Lunar Real Estate are pieces of land on the moon open for purchase to the public by Dennis Hope’s Lunar Embassy.

No one really has the right to claim ownership over the Moon. This is in accordance with Article II of the United Nations’ 1967 Outer Space Treaty.

However, Hope was a clever individual who managed to bypass the laws that govern these celestial entities.

He believed the Outer Space Treaty did not hold the ability to bar individuals from claiming the sovereignty of the moon.

So, in 1980, he went to the local US Governmental Office to take action. He claimed ownership over the moon and the eight other planets in the Milky Way as well.

And believe it or not, after a couple of tugs and pulls, he was victorious. After convincing the main supervisor of the Office, he had his claim of ownership registered.

Just after a short while, a law professor went against Hope. He declared the fact that Hope is unable to protect the property rights he is selling to the public. And this is because they are governed by nothing at all.

Now, you would think that this would put him out of business, but Dennis Hope is just smarter than anyone else assumes him to be.

In response to this event, he formed the Galactic Government in 2004 and made himself President. And this is not just any made-up body of the state, it’s complete with a constitution, a congress, a unit of currency, and even a patent office.

Sales

While most of the public is still skeptical of the entire Lunar Real Estate extravaganza, some of them have made their purchases.

In fact, this real estate was so enticing that Dennis Hope sold over 16 billion acres of the moon to seven million individuals. Basically, he made millions of dollars with little to no capital.

And just who are these people you may ask?

Well, four out of these seven million individuals were former Presidents of the United States. They were George Bush, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, and Donald Trump.

In addition, multiple well-known celebrities hold titles to the moon too, such as Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman.

And if you’re a huge Star Trek fan, you’ll be happy to know that 15 of the series’ main actors also have bought portions of the moon as well.

A Land From The Metaverse

History

If Lunar Real Estate does not entice you enough, we encourage you to give this a try.

The Metaverse is a fictional universe and virtual reality launched in 2003. It’s a place where people can live their lives, work, and even meet new people.

This virtual world began to gain its popularity through Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games or MMORPGs. Games like Minecraft, PokemonGO, and Grand Theft Auto were among the well-known versions of the Metaverse.

Sales

Surprisingly, you can now buy real estate in the Metaverse through the platform’s marketplace or with the use of a third-party app.

However, it is important to note that you may only purchase it with the use of cryptocurrency.

And just when you thought no one would give away their money to a virtual piece of land, the Metaverse’s real estate sales are expected to reach $5,000,000,000 by 2026.
